Harping On

This time last year I kept getting requests to play the double bass in concerts. “Billy” Bass had hardly come out of the wardrobe for months!! – all of a sudden he was in demand – BIGTIME!

Strange to say, in the past week I have had two phone calls asking me to play harp. Poor old “Gabriel” hasn’t been seriously played since I had a bout of illness followed by shoulder trouble, which necessitated an enforced rest of three years. What a wonderful incentive to get me playing again! So at the end of this month I will be performing in the Rutter Requiem, in Martley on Saturday 29th and St Johns, Worcester, on Sunday 30th. Then on December 4th I will be doing Chabrier Espana and Walton Spitfire Prelude and Fugue with Worcester Youth Orchestra in Kidderminster Town Hall.

I haven’t seen the music for that yet! Hope it’s playable!
