Gerontius

Sunday 12th June finds me playing in Symphony Hall, Birmingham, for the first time ever!

Chandos Symphony Orchestra is performing Elgar’s wonderful “Dream of Gerontius” with a chorus of around 400 voices – all members of various choirs and choral societies which belong to “Making Music” in the Midlands.

It is a great honour for Chandos to be chosen as the orchestra for such an occasion but the rehearsal on Sunday (during which even my goosebumps had goosebumps) certainly proved that the combination of Chandos and Making Music will result in a wonderful performance, as indeed it did a few years ago when we combined to perform the Verdi Requiem in Worcester Cathedral.

PS. They spelled Gerontius wrongly not me!
